Dade City Hydro Jetting and Drain Cleaning
Dade City is the Pasco County seat, and its post office name became official in December 1884. Of the places we serve, it has the longest-settled streets, with downtown buildings running from the 1920s through the 1940s.
Houses of that age may have cast iron, vitrified clay or Orangeburg under them. Orangeburg is a bituminous-fiber pipe used for laterals from roughly the 1940s into the early 1970s, and it can collapse under a jetter. We find out which pipe we have before we pressurize anything.
Camera-First Hydro Jetting in Dade City
On an older Dade City lot the first visit often looks like this. We open the cleanout, run a camera and read the pipe: material, joints, roots, sags, scale. If the line is sound, we jet it. If it is brittle or offset, we use a cable or stop. The footage is how you see which.
Outside the old center, the ring of newer subdivisions is plastic pipe and behaves like Wesley Chapel's. The cost of finding out which you have is the camera fee, $150 to $300, and on an older street it is cheap insurance.
What We Do for Dade City Homes
- Hydro Jetting Services — High-pressure water jetting that scours grease, scale and debris from drain and sewer lines
- Sewer Line Hydro Jetting — Full main-line cleaning from the house cleanout out to the street connection
- Kitchen Line Grease Jetting — Grease clearing for kitchen branch lines and the drain stack beneath your sink
- Root Removal & Line Clearing — Cutting and flushing roots out of sewer lines before they block the flow
- Drain Cleaning & Snaking — Cable snaking for sinks, tubs, showers, floor drains and stubborn toilet clogs
- Sewer Camera Inspection — Video inspection showing pipe condition, blockages and root entry before and after cleaning
Dade City Drain Cleaning and Sewer Line Service
The City of Dade City Public Utilities Division maintains the public wastewater collection system, including 27 lift stations. If a backup starts at a lift station or the main, it is theirs. If it starts at your cleanout, it is yours, and that is where sewer line jetting begins.
Roots in old clay joints are the other regular job. See root removal and our comparison of cutting nozzles and chemical root killers for what each can and cannot do. San Antonio and Zephyrhills are also on our route.
Dade City Historic Streets and Newer Subdivisions
Dade City's oldest blocks sit near downtown, with newer subdivisions built around the SR 52 corridor.
- Church Street Historic District — National Register district of 34 historic buildings on 14 acres along Church Street, 9th to 17th Streets, listed in 1997. Homes of that age may have clay or cast-iron laterals.
- Meridian Avenue downtown — Historic commercial strip with the Treiber Building (about 1900), Griffin Block (1905) and Touchton Building (1908). Lines serving older blocks nearby may be clay or cast iron; camera before jetting.
- Clinton Heights and Lake Pasadena Heights — Neighborhoods along Clinton Avenue (SR 52) toward the south side of Dade City. The sources give no build dates, so a camera pass decides cable or jetter.
- Suwannee Lakeside — Subdivision of about 300 planned homes on Adair Road west of SR 52, in earthwork in 2020. Recent construction means PVC, with grease and wipes as common causes.
- Abbey Glenn — Phase II was 170 homes off Prosser Road and SR 52, under construction in 2020. New plastic pipe, so expect kitchen grease and bathroom wipes rather than roots in clay.
- Arbours at Hester Lake — An 80-home community at 13300 Hester Lake Way, nearly complete in 2020. Built this decade, so laterals are most likely PVC.
- Lacoochee — Census-designated place north of Dade City, ZIP 33537, with 1,124 residents in 2020 on about 2.9 square miles. Rural lots; ask whether a home is on sewer or septic.
- Trilby — Census-designated place of 433 residents in 2020 on US 98, at the southern end of the Withlacoochee State Trail. Confirm sewer or septic by address.
Dade City Highways and Courthouse-Area Landmarks
- US 98 and US 301 — The two highways run together through Dade City; SR 52 ends at their junction on the city's south side.
- SR 52 (Clinton Avenue) — East of St. Leo the road is named Clinton Avenue, and it runs into US 98 and US 301 south of downtown.
- Fort King Road (CR 41) — Runs past AdventHealth Dade City and meets the final stretch of SR 52 near the south side of town.
- AdventHealth Dade City — Hospital at 13100 Fort King Road, opened in 1973 as Community General Hospital with 65 beds.
- Pasco County Historic Courthouse — The 1909 courthouse at Meridian Avenue and 7th Street, designed by E.C. Hosford, anchors the county seat.
- Pioneer Florida Museum and Village — At 15602 Pioneer Museum Road, just outside city limits; the village includes a train depot and a schoolhouse moved from Lacoochee.
- Pasco-Hernando State College East Campus — The college's east Pasco campus at 36727 Blanton Road in Dade City.
- Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Depot — National Register-listed in 1994, near CR 35 Alternate and the eastern end of CR 52 Alternate.
- Pyracantha Park Civic Center — A civic center on the site of a World War II prisoner-of-war camp that operated from about 1942 to 1946.
Dade City Sewer and Housing Facts for Hydro Jetting
- In the ACS 2020-2024 5-year estimate, Dade City's median year built is 1980, with 50% of its 3,441 housing units built before 1980 and 28% before 1960. Half the housing was built before 1980, when cast iron and clay were still common, so older laterals may be present and a camera pass comes first.
- ZIP 33523 has 8,007 housing units, of which 20% are mobile homes and 42% were built before 1980 (ACS 2020-2024 5-year estimate). Rural and older housing in the same ZIP means a spread of pipe types and possible septic systems, so we ask about the system before choosing a method.
- In a February 2023 request to the Florida Senate, Dade City said it runs a 1.5 MGD wastewater treatment plant on a built-out site and is planning a larger replacement and a force main. A plant with no room to expand, serving a growing city, is a reason to keep grease and wipes out of the lines so lift stations and the plant are not overloaded.
- A September 2020 Laker/Lutz News tally of Dade City projects expected at least 3,000 new housing units within the next decade. New subdivisions mean new PVC laterals joining older streets, so a stoppage can sit in either generation of pipe depending on the address.
- ZIP 33525 has 9,069 housing units, of which 27% are mobile homes and 35% were built in 2000 or later, and the median year built is 1991 (ACS 2020-2024 5-year estimate). With a quarter of homes manufactured and a third newer than 2000, pipe type and sewer arrangement change from street to street, so each address gets its own camera check.

CALL 813-733-7188Hydro Jetting in Dade City: Common Questions
On brittle pipe, yes. Orangeburg can delaminate or collapse, and thinned cast iron can fail under pressure. That is why we camera older lines first and choose a cable over a jetter where the pipe looks weak. If the camera shows damage, we say so and recommend a repair contractor.
Houses from before the 1970s may have cast iron or clay, and some laterals are Orangeburg. The pipe at the cleanout hints at it, but the camera shows what is under the yard. Cast iron looks rough and rust-brown; PVC is smooth and white or gray.
The City of Dade City Public Utilities Division maintains public wastewater collection and its lift stations. If our camera shows your lateral is clear, you can show the video to them. If the blockage sits in your own line, we clear it.
Yes: 33523, 33525 and 33526, including streets near US 98, US 301 and SR 52. Pricing matches the rest of our area, with a written quote first, same-day scheduling when the day allows, and free estimates honored for 30 days.
Often a cable is enough for occasional clogs. Jetting earns its cost when a line slows repeatedly, because it removes the coating a cable leaves. On an older Dade City line we may suggest a camera first to decide. The cost guide has the numbers.
